IDB Board Visit: Advancing Decommissioning and Peace Efforts

Cotabato City – The Board of the Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB) recently concluded a productive series of engagements in the Philippines, reinforcing commitment to the peace process. The visit, spanning from July 14th to July 17th, involved meetings with key stakeholders and celebrated a significant milestone for the organization. The discussions underscored the ongoing dedication to fostering stability and development in the region.

The visit commenced with discussions in Pasig City on July 14th, including a meeting with the OPAPRU and GPH Peace Implementing Panel officials. This was followed by engagements with representatives from Embassies, including the IDB members, international donors and other international stakeholders. 

The following day, July 15th, the Board convened in Cotabato City, ensuring strategic alignment and progress on critical initiatives.

Significant highlights of the visit were a meeting with the MILF Peace Implementing Panel, and a courtesy call Maguindanao del Norte Governor Datu Tucao Mastura CPA on July 16th.

The visit culminated on July 17th with the celebration of the IDB’s 10th Ceremonial Decommissioning Anniversary, a testament to a decade of dedicated efforts towards peace and normalization. This series of events showcased the IDB’s unwavering commitment to its mandate and its collaborative spirit with partners towards a meaningful and peaceful Bangsamoro region. #MAM
