IDB Personnel Complete Conflict-Sensitive and Peace Promotion (CSPP) Training in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY – The Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB) recently concluded the  Conflict Sensitive and Peace Promotion  (CSPP) Training for its staff to enhance their capacity in understanding and resolving conflict. Held from 29-31 July 2025, at the Al Nor Convention in Cotabato City, the training was attended by IDB personnel from various sections including drivers and utility personnel as well as members of the local Verification Monitoring Assistance Team (VMAT). The initiative aligns with the IDB’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of peace and supporting the broader peace process in the Bangsamoro region.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Ephol T. Calandria from OPAPRU SHAPEO and featured a curriculum that included lectures, participatory discussions, and scenario-based workshops. These activities were designed to build participants’ skills in identifying early warning signs of conflict and applying culturally sensitive approaches to resolution. The program also highlighted the importance of promoting peace in the context of the IDB’s work with diverse personnel and stakeholders.

The IDB is committed to its mandate of institutional development and sees this training as a step in promoting peaceful work relationships and enhancing organizational efficiency. This initiative reflects the IDB’s internal commitment to non-violent communication and conflict sensitivity, which is important for the sustainability of its operations in sensitive environments.
