Manila, Philippines – On 2 June 2026, the Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB) delegation led by its chairman paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Secretary Mel Senen S. Sarmiento. This meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and reviewing the current milestones of the normalization track under the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB). Both parties emphasized the critical role of coordination in ensuring a smooth, secure, and efficient decommissioning process for Moro Islamic Revelation Front (MILF) combatants.

IDB reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to working closely with OPAPRU, MILF, and other peace mechanisms to sustain the gains of the peace process. This collaborative effort underscores a shared vision of long-term stability, inclusive development, and lasting peace across the Bangsamoro region. #MAM
