Independent Decommissioning Body participates in PRC “Walk for Humanity” in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY, PHILIPPINES — In a strong display of unity and compassion on International Humanitarian Day, representatives from the Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB) joined hands with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) – Maguindanao Chapter for the annual community “Walk for Humanity and Peace”.

The solidarity walk commenced at the Cotabato State University (CSU) campus and culminated at the People’s Palace (Cotabato City Hall), where participants gathered for a commemorative program highlighting humanitarian values, peacebuilding, and civic action.

Bringing together international delegates, peace monitors, youth organizations, local government employees, and frontline emergency responders, the walk served as a reminder of the strong connection between humanitarian aid, community protection, and the Bangsamoro peace process.

By walking side by side with local civil society and aid workers, the IDB reaffirmed its mandate under the Normalization track of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), demonstrating that decommissioning and reintegration are fundamentally rooted in dignity and human welfare. #MAM
