IDB Joins 18-Day Campaign to End VAW for a #VAWFreePH

Cotabato City, BARMM – The Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB) actively participated in the nation’s 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) by hosting a workshop in Cotabato City. On November 27, 2025, the IDB successfully conducted a Raising Awareness on Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) workshop at the Golden Lace Resto. This initiative underscored the IDB’s commitment not only to peace and security but also to promoting a culture of respect and protecting the rights of women and children within the communities it serves.

The workshop served as a platform for educating participants about the forms, impacts, and legal remedies concerning violence against women and children, particularly the provisions under Philippine laws. By focusing on VAWC awareness, the IDB aimed to empower individuals with the knowledge necessary to recognize, report, and prevent acts of violence. This concerted effort during the 18-Day Campaign highlights the integral role that institutions like the IDB play in broader social campaigns, demonstrating that security and peacebuilding efforts must go hand-in-hand with the promotion of human rights and gender equality.
