IDB Onboards Turkish Contingent Through Decommissioning Simulation

Cotabato City, BARMM – The Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB) conducted a combatant and weapons decommissioning simulation at its headquarters for the newly arrived Turkish contingents. As a regular activity for the IDB upon receiving new staff and international contingents, this immersive onboarding replicated the exact actual and administrative demands of the field during decommissioning, allowing participants to practice precise protocols for registration and weapons verification. By bridging the gap between theoretical training and field application, the exercise allowed the contingent to identify and correct potential operational bottlenecks, ensuring all future stages are handled with the required neutrality and procedural accuracy.

The Turkish contingent demonstrated exceptional professional readiness throughout the session, aligning their technical expertise with decommissioning standards. Following the successful simulation, the contingent continued their integration efforts with a courtesy visit to the Joint Peace and Security Team (JPST) Operation Centre and other peace mechanisms. These engagements reinforced the collaborative framework necessary for executing transition procedures and maintaining stringent safety standards during actual deployment. #MAM
