MANILA, Philippines – Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB) Chairman Ambassador Suat Akgün paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Special Assistant to the President (OSAP) and met with Secretary Anton Lagdameo Jr. on 4 June 2026 as part of the IDB’s continuing engagement with key government stakeholders supporting the Bangsamoro peace process.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss developments in the implementation of the normalization track under the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) and to reaffirm the importance of sustained collaboration in advancing peace, stability, and inclusive development in Mindanao. Both parties recognized the value of strong partnerships in supporting the gains of the peace process and promoting successful normalization efforts.

The engagement also highlighted the continued commitment of government institutions and peace stakeholders to support the implementation of the peace agreement. The IDB remains committed to working closely with its partners in advancing normalization and contributing to a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Bangsamoro. #MAM
