IDB SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTS ITS FIRST VIRTUAL BOARD MEETING

COTABATO CITY – The Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB) Board led by Chairman HE Fatih Ulusoy (Turkey) virtually convened on 25 May 2020 and successfully conducted its regular board meeting via Zoom video conference.

Present during the virtual meeting were Vice-Chairman William Hovland (Norway), LtCol Muhammad Wata bin Abdullah Awat (Brunei), GPH Representatives (Ret) LtGen Rey Ardo and Prof. Mario Aguja, MILF Representative Jannati Mimbantas, and Chief of Staff Einar Aas. The Board discussed the highlights of the second phase of the decommissioning process as well as the plans and preparations for the succeeding phase.

This marks the first board meeting conducted by the IDB held as an online video conference. The scheduled quarterly IDB Board Visit was supposed to be conducted last March, yet postponed due to the current public health crisis and quarantine measures brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. //CRA
