IDB Celebrates Women's Month: Championing Women's Empowerment and their Vital Role in Peacebuilding

Cotabato City, BARMM – The Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB), in accordance with the national celebration of Women's Month, organized a special event on 17 March 2025 at IDB headquarters, honoring the contributions of women within the organization while fostering a spirit of inclusivity and well-being.

Echoing the national theme, "Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas" (Women in All Sectors, Uplifting the Future in the New Philippines), the IDB's Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives, led by the Operations, Planning and Training Section (OPTS) and the GAD Focal Committee, orchestrated a day dedicated to celebrating the women who play an integral role in the IDB's mission of promoting peace and normalization.

Further embracing the spirit of inclusivity and cultural sensitivity, the IDB incorporated the observance of Ramadan into the day's activities. In the afternoon, an Islamic Knowledge sharing session was conducted, providing an opportunity for staff members to deepen their understanding of Islamic principles and values. The day culminated with an Iftar gathering, fostering a sense of community and shared spiritual reflection among all staff members.

Through these initiatives, the Independent Decommissioning Body reaffirmed its dedication to promoting gender equality, fostering a supportive work environment, and contributing to a more inclusive and peaceful society in the Bangsamoro region. The celebration served as a powerful reminder of the role women play in all sectors and their potential to uplift the future.
